Sabina completed her PhD from the University of Manchester in 2017. She is active within the university as a HEA Teaching Fellow for undergraduates and a 'Practice Based Research' facilitator for PhD students. Prior to this Sabina studied at the London College of Music and Media where she also worked as a G.T.A with the senior lecturer teaching 'Video Editing' to B.A students and obtained a 1st for her M.A degree in Video Production and Film Studies.  Sabina graduated with a B.A (hons) degree in the field of Music and Visual Arts from the University of Brighton.

To feed previous research practice and to gain knowledge in the field of screen studies it has been vital for Sabina to observe and to be actively involved in the film, media and music industry. Music projects have led to records being released and aired Internationally on radio, including a live session and interviews with the BBC.  Sabina has worked at Pinewood Studios and various production houses and has experience assisting directors to stage their productions whether for film or theatre. Theatrical duties also combined the running of shadow puppetry and audio workshops. Most recently Sabina has worked alongside NGO Tea Leaf Trust in the organisation and running of lessons that addressed emotional health using shadow puppetry as a mode of communication in post-war Sri Lanka. On completion of this doctorate Sabina would like to work internationally as an academic filmmaker alongside NGOs to seek human rights resolutions using the film medium, branching out into documentary and feature films.
